Midland Station

Midland Station

After more than 50 years, Midland Station will have a new home bringing it closer to the heart of the Midland Town Centre. The new station location will improve connections to Midland Gate Shopping Centre and Midland Health Campus, while maintaining the railway’s central role to enhance work opportunities and community life in the area.

The project will replace the ageing station infrastructure with a modern facility including:

  • platforms servicing the urban and regional networks;

  • a pedestrian overpass accessible to the public 24/7;

  • a new 12-stand bus interchange

  • multi-storey car park with more than 800 bayS

  • lifts and stairs.

  • 1 kilometre of new shared path to extend the existing network;

  • a kiosk;

  • bike shelters; and

  • operations facilities.

The project will also connect the passenger rail network to the new Bellevue Railcar Manufacturing and Maintenance Facility, which will bring significant new employment to Midland.

The Noongar place name for Midland is Mandjanup and the narrative is ‘The place where meetings take place for trade and exchange – an important meeting place’.
